Psychological Capital and Its Relationship with Emotional Labor in Teaching Among Special Education Female Teachers in Makkah

Abstract

The current study aims to find out the relationship between psychological capital and emotional effort in teaching among special education female teachers in Mecca. The study relied on the descriptive, survey method, and predictive difference. The sample number was (169) of special education female teachers in public and private schools Mecca. The researcher used the psychological capital scale which prepared by Al-Dulaimi and Saleh (2016), and the emotional effort in teaching scale which prepared by Al-Farhati and Samuel (2020). That study found the level of psychological capital among special education female teachers in the city of Mecca was high with a mean (4.062) and a relative weight of (81.2%), and the level of emotional effort in teaching was high with a mean (4.198), and with a relative weight (84%). There was a positive correlation between the total score of psychological capital and the total score of emotional effort in teaching among special education female teachers in the city of Mecca.
