Psychological capital and its impact on enhancing psychological empowerment among working women in the city of Makkah

Abstract

The aim of this study is to reveal both the level of psychological capital and psychological empowerment among working women in the city of Makkah. It aims also to discover the relationship between psychological capital and psychological empowerment. Moreover, it aims to verifying the possibility of predicting the level of psychological empowerment through the level of psychological capital. The researcher used the psychological capital scale (Al-Delaimi, 2016), and the psychological empowerment scale (Spreitzer, 1995). This study was carried out among a sample of (300) working women in the city of Makkah, and they were chosen by random method. The researcher used the descriptive correlative method. The results of the study are as follows:                                                                                                           
- The study sample has shown a high level of psychological capital.
- The study sample has shown a high level of psychological empowerment.
- There is statistically significant positive correlation between psychological capital and psychological empowerment.                                                                                        
- The level of psychological empowerment can be predicted by the level of psychological capital. The total degree of psychological capital explained 32.2% of the variance in the level of psychological empowerment.
