The Role of Educational Supervisors in Improving School Performance in General Education Schools in Medina

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the role of educational supervisors in enhancing school performance in general education schools in Madinah, and to reveal differences in the opinions of the research sample about the role of educational supervisors in improving school performance according to variables such as: job position, educational stage, academic qualification, gender, and years of service. The study was conducted on a sample of 3,014 educational supervisors, school principals, and general education teachers in Madinah, selected randomly. The researcher used a scale developed to assess the role of the educational supervisor in improving school performance. The descriptive method was employed. The research found that educational supervisors play a significant role in improving school performance in general education schools. The "teacher" domain was ranked first, followed by the "students" domain in second place, and the "school environment" domain in third place. The research also found statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between the average ratings of the sample members regarding the role of educational supervisors in improving school performance, attributed to the variable of job position in favor of supervisors, and statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between average ratings related to the educational stage variable in favor of the primary stage. Additionally, significant differences were found at the 0.05 level related to the academic qualification variable in favor of those with a diploma followed by a bachelor's degree, and significant differences were also found at the 0.05 level related to gender in favor of females. Furthermore, significant differences at the 0.05 level were noted regarding years of service, with those having less than 5 years of service showing higher ratings.
