Abstract

The study aimed to evaluating the content of mathematics textbooks for the preparatory stage foreign students at the Islamic Envoys Institutes in the light of the Common Core Standards for School Mathematics (CCSSM), using the descriptive approach through content analysis. The study population is represented in all mathematics textbooks for the preparatory stage Foreign students at Islamic Envoys institutes. While the study sample consisted of the first and second year preparatory books for foreign students at the Islamic Envoys  Institutes, edition 2020/2021 AD. the study was limited to the two dimensions of focus (clearly including topics of content standards in CCSSM standards), and coherence (commitment of sample books to organizing content standards in accordance with CCSSM standards). The study found that the average focus of the content of the mathematics textbooks for the first and second preparatory grades was (0.54 out of 2) and (0.90 out of 2), respectively; That is, at weak and medium levels, respectively. The percentage of coherence for the two school mathematics books for the first and second grades of preparatory school was (42.31%), (68.97%). That is, in low and high percentages, respectively. In the light of the results of the study, the researcher presented a scenario to improve the levels of focus and coherence of the books of the target sample.
