Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the degree of fulfillment of programme accreditation standards in post-graduate programs in the Department of Management, Planning and Comparative Studies, Faculty of Education for Boys, Cairo, Al-Azhar University. The study used the descriptive approach, and it relied on a proposed scale as a tool for evaluating post-graduate programs in the Department based on the programme accreditation standards, which consisted of (79) indicators distributed among (9) standards. It was applied to the whole study community. The study results for students revealed a weak degree of fulfillment on the total standards included in the scale, and ranged between (weak and medium) on each standard individually, where the standards for (faculty members, content of the program’s courses, vision, mission and objectives of the program, admission of programs) got a medium of fulfillment, while the standards for (the program's teaching methods, program academic standards, program management and organizing, the facilities supporting the program, and the evaluation of success indicators for the program) got a weak degree of fulfillment. The results of the study for the faculty members also revealed a medium degree of fulfillment on the total standards included in the scale, and the degree of fulfillment was medium for each standard, except for the standard for evaluation of success indicators for the program, which got a weak fulfillment degree. The study recommended adopting a combination of proposals based on its findings to operationalize the post-graduate programmes of the Department based on the standards for programme accreditation.
