This study aimed at identifying the impact of using imperative way, praising way and comprehensive way on learning the skill of serving in volleyball. The researcher used the experimental approach. The study sample consisted of (30) students from the department of physical education and sports sciences at Taibah University who are enrolled in the course of volleyball (1). The researcher used the descriptive approach consisting of three equal groups, with (10) students in each group. The educational program was administered as follows: the first experimental group consisted of (10) students to whom the imperative way was used, the second experimental group consisted of (10) students to whom the praise way was applied, and the third experimental group to whom the comprehensive way was applied. After collecting data, they were analyzed using (SPSS). The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the pre and post measurement between the individuals of the three experimental groups in favor of the post measurement. The results also revealed that there were statistically significant differences for the post measurements between the individuals of the three groups in favor of the comprehensive approach. In the light of the results, the study recommended the necessity of using the modern teaching methods, particularly the comprehensive approach in teaching volleyball and other practical courses as well as conducting further studies about the modern teaching methods in learning other skills of group games.
