The Effect of the Difference in the Leaderboard Pattern in a Learning Environment Based on Game Stimuli on Developing Awareness towards Using Artificial Intelligence Applications "Available Opportunities &Potential Risks" and Technological Acceptance among Students of the Faculty of Education

Abstract

The current research aimed to develop awareness towards the available opportunities and potential risks of using artificial intelligence applications as well as technological acceptance among students of the Faculty of Education. This can be done through revealing the effect of the difference in the leaderboard pattern (full & limited) in a learning environment based on game stimuli. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher followed the quasi-experimental approach to conduct the experiment on the research sample. The research sample consisted of 90 students from the third year students at the Faculty of Education for Boys in Cairo-Al-Azhar University, who were randomly selected according to the availability of training requirements. They were divided into two experimental groups as well as a survey group, with 30 students for each group. The measurement tools were represented in an achievement test to measure the cognitive aspect related to the use of artificial intelligence applications, a practical performance observation card, as well as a scale of technological acceptance. Appropriate statistical processing methods were applied using the statistical package for the social sciences "SPSS.V 21". The research results showed the effect of the leaderboard pattern (full & limited) on cognitive achievement, practical performance, and technological acceptance among students of the Faculty of Education. The learning environment based on game stimuli increased students' technological acceptance, and thus was effective in developing awareness in their use of artificial intelligence applications. The research concluded by presenting some recommendations and suggestions to improve practical contributions to developing awareness in the use of artificial intelligence applications in different educational situations.
