Expected Impacts of Artificial Intelligence Technologies on Academic Integrity in Educational Research from an Islamic Perspective and Mechanisms for Confrontation

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the expected impacts of artificial intelligence technologies on academic integrity in educational research from an Islamic perspective and mechanisms for confronting them. It also aimed to reveal the intellectual framework of academic integrity, examine the values ​​of academic integrity from an Islamic perspective, clarify the opportunities and threats of artificial intelligence technologies on academic integrity in educational research, and propose some mechanisms for confronting them. The research used the fundamentalist approach, referring to the Holy Quran, the Prophet's Sunnah, and Islamic educational heritage to understand the concept of academic integrity values ​​and develop a classification for them. The research also used a descriptive approach to review the literature and a critical analysis approach to extract the opportunities and threats of artificial intelligence technologies. The research concluded with a list of academic integrity values ​​from an Islamic perspective and some mechanisms to address the potential repercussions of artificial intelligence technologies on academic integrity values ​​for educational research from an Islamic perspective, using several scenarios.
