This research paper addresses some of the ethical challenges that may arise from the misuse of artificial intelligence applications at the individual and societal levels. These challenges include violations of personal privacy, making morally unjustifiable decisions, the control of artificial intelligence applications by certain individuals, discrimination, and the lack of fairness among people based on differences in their cultural, racial, religious backgrounds, or skin color. It also highlights the use of certain systems and algorithms to favor one group over others, and the need to balance human life requirements with the preservation of environmental resources. The paper calls for the development of relevant laws and legislations to ensure the fair use of artificial intelligence applications for the benefit of all people without discrimination. It also emphasizes the need for providing AI tools and systems to developing countries, as well as addressing the technological and industrial gaps between developing and advanced nations. Furthermore, it discusses the threats to cultural identity and the weakening of cultural diversity among nations. The paper concludes by proposing principles for an ethical guide that can be used to address the ethical challenges mentioned above when utilizing artificial intelligence applications. Additionally, the research paper offers recommendations for correcting historical mistakes made by Islamic nations that have contributed to existential threats to our survival and the continuation of life on Earth, which has been our home and the home of our ancestors for generations. These recommendations include the following: Preparing generations of researchers in all fields of research who are able to use artificial intelligence tools and applications in a manner that does not contradict the religious and moral values stemming from the tolerant Islamic faith. Deepening the understanding of the Islamic cognitive system as a doctrine, law, and behavior among researchers and those working in the field of scientific research using artificial intelligence. Providing the necessary capabilities to establish research centers capable of solving the real problems that our societies suffer from at the local, regional, and global levels.
