Abstract

       This study provided a reflective overview of the state of student counselling at Jazan University, based on students’ perspectives regarding the counselling services offered to them. The study specifically shed light on the role of academic leadership in enhancing these services, which include academic, electronic, career, and psychological counselling. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, with data collected through a survey distributed among all student groups at Jazan University. The data was then analysed using SPSS software to evaluate the effectiveness of student counselling from the students’ viewpoint. Findings revealed that, electronic counselling was identified as the most effective type of student counselling. Also, academic counselling ranked second in terms of its positive impact. Career and psychological counselling were ranked last, highlighting the need for improvement in these services. Regarding the role of academic leadership, the study emphasized that their primary impact lies in supporting electronic and academic counselling. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a valuable   resource for researchers and decision-makers in developing and enhancing student counselling programs in higher education institutions.
