Abstract

The research aimed to study the relationship between Mindfulness and academic optimism (a predictive study) among Al-Azhar secondary school students. The research sample consisted of (120) students from Al-Azhar secondary school at Awlad Yahya Al-Hajer Secondary Institute, whose ages ranged between (16-17) years, with an arithmetic mean of (167.16) and a standard deviation of (379.0), during the first semester of the academic year (2024/2025). The researchers used the descriptive correlational predictive approach. The research tools consisted of the (Academic Optimism) scale prepared by the researchers and the (Mindfulness) scale prepared by the researchers. The researchers used stepwise multiple regression analysis to determine the possibility of prediction. The research results showed that academic optimism can be predicted by knowing some dimensions of Mindfulness (openness to what is new - attention - Mindfulness of multiple perspectives( Recommendations in research are designing workshops for mindfulness that contribute to stimulating academic optimism among students at all their different academic stages. Designing mindfulness-based training programs with many different variables that help develop the cognitive capabilities of students within the semester environment. Designing many training programs that develop academic optimism among students.
