Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of values-based leadership in managing academic relationships from the perspective of graduate students at King Khalid University. It focused on understanding the reality of faculty members' application of personal and organizational values. The study employed a mixed-methods approach and included a sample of 304 students from various disciplines and academic levels. A questionnaire was developed to collect data and information. The results indicated that faculty members at King Khalid University clearly apply personal and organizational values according to the perceptions of graduate students. Faculty members demonstrated a high level of commitment to personal values such as honesty, integrity, sincerity, and being good role models. Conversely, there was room for improvement regarding fairness among students, objective assessment, adherence to scheduled class times, providing clear course schedules, and effectively managing class discussions. Additionally, there was potential for enhancement in responding to student feedback related to course development, providing electronic materials on Blackboard, and offering individual feedback to students. The study provided several recommendations, including the necessity of developing training programs for faculty members in the areas of values-based leadership and managing human relationships. It also suggested studying the relationship between values-based leadership and the level of academic motivation among students, as well as its impact on academic achievement rates.
