The Reality of the Role of Saudi Families in Makkah City in Protecting Their Children from Cybercrimes and Requirements for Its Enhancement in Light of Islamic Education

Abstract


       This study aimed to explore the reality of the role of Saudi families in Makkah City in protecting their children from cybercrimes and identifying the requirements for enhancing this role in light of Islamic education. The study adopted a descriptive approach and used a questionnaire as its data collection tool. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of 842 Saudi families, distributed according to gender (male/female), educational level  (secondary/ university/ postgraduate), and marriage duration (5 to 10 years, 10 to 20 years, more than 20 years). The results indicated that the current role of Saudi families in Makkah City in preventing cybercrimes was low. However, the proposed requirements for enhancing this role, as perceived by the study participants, received a high level of agreement. The results also revealed no statistically significant differences in responses based on gender. However, statistically significant differences were found based on educational level, favoring those with postgraduate degrees over those with secondary or university education. Additionally, differences were observed based on marriage duration, favoring families married for more than 20 years compared to those married for fewer years.
