A Procedural Framework for Digital Teaching Based on Social Constructivist Principles: A Suggested Proposal

Abstract

The current research aimed to develop a suggested proposal of a procedural framework for digital teaching based on the principles of social constructivism from the perspective of experts and specialists through employing a descriptive methodology to uncover these insights. The research sample consisted of 75 From academics and specialists in curricula and teaching methods in colleges of education. The research instruments included a list of social constructivist principles and a questionnaire of the elements of the procedural framework for digital teaching in light of these principles. The study yielded several key findings, the most significant of which was the positive role of the elements of the procedural framework for digital teaching based on social constructivist principles. The results indicated that the highest-ranking principle in terms of the application of social constructivist principles was the third dimension: implementing digital teaching with a very high level of importance (strongly agree), with a relative weight of 4.43. This was followed by the first dimension: requirements for digital teaching with a very high level of importance (strongly agree), with a relative weight of 4.40. The second dimension: planning for digital teaching, also held a very high level of importance (strongly agree), with a relative weight of 4.37. The fourth dimension: evaluating digital teaching, likewise, demonstrated a very high level of importance (strongly agree), with a relative weight of 4.32. Additionally, the research findings indicated no statistically significant differences attributable to the variables of gender, academic degree, or specialization (curricula and teaching methods: art education, home economics, electrical). Based on the research results, an integrated suggested proposal was formulated as a procedural framework for digital teaching based on social constructivist principles. Consequently, the current research recommended that policymakers in general education should consider the principles of social constructivism and their importance in developing a procedural framework for teachers to be utilized in digital teaching.
