Abstract

The research aimed to identify whether intercultural communication competence can be predicted through the dimensions of cultural intelligence, and which of these dimensions contribute most to intercultural communication competence of sample members (the subject of the research). To achieve the aim of the research, the cultural intelligence scale and the intercultural communication competence scale were used, which were applied to a sample of (522) students from the Faculty of Education for Boys in Cairo, representing the third year, who were selected from the following specializations (scientific - literary - qualitative) in the university academic year 2023 AD. The results indicated that:
-           The value of (F) to determine the significance of predicting intercultural communication competence based on the dimensions of cultural intelligence (metacognitive, cognitive, motivational, and behavioral) reached (109.52), which is a statistically significant value at the level of (.01); Which indicates the effectiveness of all dimensions of cultural intelligence in predicting the intercultural communication competence. This means that the dimensions of cultural intelligence are related to the intercultural communication competence.
-           All dimensions of cultural intelligence contribute to intercultural communication competence, as the final interpretation coefficient of the model (R2 model) associated with entering the variables into the multiple regression model was respectively (0.166), (0.060), (0.048), (0.008). The square of the multiple correlation coefficient associated with entering the variables into the multiple regression model was (0.168), (0.229), (0.278), and (0.287). This result indicates that the dimensions of cultural intelligence (metacognitive, cognitive, motivational, and behavioral) contribute to the total score of intercultural communication competence.
