Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of a proposed strategy based on the semantic approach through virtual classrooms in developing some story writing skills for students of Arabic language of non-native speakers at the advanced level. Students were divided into an experimental group, numbering (30) students, who studied using the proposed strategy, and a control group, numbering (30) students, who studied in the prevailing way, and a list of story writing skills was prepared. The research instruments consisted of a questionnaire to determine story writing skills, and to test story writing skills, and a graded scale to correct the story writing skills test. the experimental treatment material was represented in the student’s book to study the art of the story in the light of the proposed strategy, the user’s guide to explain the steps of entering the virtual classroom, and the teacher’s guide for implementing the proposed strategy. The results of the research resulted in the presence of a statistically significant difference to level (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group (A) and the control group (B ) in the post application of the story writing skills test, in favor of the group A. The research recommended the need to adopt strategies and programs based on linguistic theories such as systems theory and semantic and stylistic fields theory in teaching story art skills to learners of Arabic language from non-native speakers, and the need to employ virtual classes in teaching Arabic language skills. to other speakers.
