Abstract

The study aimed to reveal mathematics teachers' difficulties obtaining a professional occupation license in Madinah. To achieve this, the researcher designed a questionnaire consisting of (29) statements that were categorized into three main dimensions. The study was applied to (375) mathematics teachers in the general education stages. The results revealed that the degree of difficulties encountered by mathematics teachers in the educational test was high, with an average score of (4.13). Moreover, the difficulties encountered by mathematics teachers in the specialized test were also high, with an average score of (4.15). Similarly, the difficulties associated with the professional occupation license examination regulatory procedures showed a high level of agreement, with an average score of (3.80). The results also showed no statistically significant differences between the responses of the study sample on the three dimensions due to gender, attainment of professional rank, and years of experience. The study recommended several recommendations, including coordination between mathematics teacher preparation programs in Saudi universities and the Education and Training Evaluation Commission to ensure that their outputs align with the specifications of competent teachers who achieve the desired learning outcomes. Additionally, the study recommended reconsidering the incentives associated with each professional rank to provide opportunities for teachers for self-development, learning, and sustainable development.
