Abstract

This study aims to present a proposed vision to overcome professional development constraints for teachers in facing the challenges of the digital age. The study adopted a descriptive approach and consisted of a general framework that includes the introduction, problem statement, research questions, objectives, significance, methodology, and literature review. The study was then divided into four main axes. The first axis outlined the conceptual framework of professional development, while the second axis addressed the most prominent constraints of professional development in the digital age.
The third axis focused on the fundamental principles of teacher professional education to confront the challenges of the digital age. Finally, the fourth axis outlined the features of the proposed vision to overcome professional development constraints for teachers in facing the challenges of the digital age. The study revealed several constraints, including the limited time allocated for the qualification and training of teachers, the excessive teaching burden, and the lack of motivation among teachers for self-improvement. Through the analysis of results, it became evident that overcoming these constraints requires starting from the specific needs of teachers, achieving a balance in preparing teachers for professional development, activating digital empowerment, fostering professional learning communities within schools, and diversifying teaching methods and training programs. These should focus on the effective use of modern technologies in education.
