Studying the Impact of Implementing the Tri-Semester System on the Academic Performance of Students in Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

        The current study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the three-semester system on the academic performance of female students at Al-Darb University College. The study was conducted on a sample of female college students, representative of all academic departments, using data from the admission and registration system, as well as a closed questionnaire. The data was analyzed using a t-test and Chi-square via SPSS. The study showed a strong positive relationship between the study system and the academic performance of female students at (p ˂ 0.01). The study concluded that there was a general decline in the level of female students in all academic departments, which reflects the initial negative impact when moving from the two-semester system to the three-semester system. He also supported the results of the study, the results obtained through the questionnaire, which measured the correlation between the basic data and the academic status of the female students and their support for the continued application of the three-semester system. The mid-level female students supported the three-semester system, unlike the final-level female students. There was also support for the three-semester system from female students who were regular in the study plan from struggling female students who were taking courses at different levels.
