The role of transformational leadership in meeting the professional needs of workers in education and educational supervision offices in Asir region

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the role of transformational leadership in meeting the professional needs of workers in the offices of educational supervision in the Asir region. The study sample included 389 respondents from leaders in education and educational supervision offices in the Asir region, and they were selected by random sampling method. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive and quantitative approach was used. The results indicated that the role of transformational leadership in meeting the professional needs of workers in education and educational supervision offices in the Asir region was very high. On the other hand, the results showed that the role of transformational leadership and its dimensions (ideal influence - inspirational motivation - intellectual excitability - individual consideration) in meeting the professional needs of workers was very high. There are also statistically significant differences between the averages of the respondents' responses about the role of transformational leadership and its dimensions in meeting the workers' professional needs due to the educational qualification variable, in favor of holders of a PhD degree. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the respondents' responses due to the variables of the current job and years of experience. The research recommended a number of recommendations, including the need to meet the professional needs of workers by adopting the transformational leadership style; as it has a significant impact on meeting the professional needs of workers.
