Requirements for the internationalization of scientific research To achieve the competitive advantage of Al-Azhar University

Abstract

The aim of the research is to reveal the most important requirements for the internationalization of scientific research to achieve the competitive advantage of Al-Azhar University, and to identify the extent to which these requirements vary according to the variables: Gender of faculty member, his academic degree, and his scientific specialization. The research also aims to present some proposals and recommendations that may contribute to the activation and achievement Requirements for the internationalization of scientific research at Al-Azhar University; Which helps in achieving its competitive advantage. The research used the descriptive method, and the questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting field study data. The questionnaire included (55) items expressing the requirements of internationalization of scientific research to achieve the competitive advantage of Al-Azhar University. The questionnaire was applied to a sample (273) of faculty members in some faculties of Al-Azhar University: Islamic, humanities, and applied. The research resulted that the agreement of the sample members of the faculty members of Al-Azhar University on the degree of (great) importance of the phrases of the five axes that make up the tool, including the following axes: the organizational and administrative aspect, the aspect of faculty members and researchers, the aspect of research production and its employment, the aspect of scientific publishing, and the aspect of Financial and human resources. The research developed a set of recommendations that could help achieve the requirements of internationalizing scientific research at Al-Azhar University, and the most important of these recommendations: the university establishing cultural centers abroad - affiliated with the university - to advertise the research programs and services provided by the university. And facilitating the process of attracting international researchers to the university, and attracting distinguished competencies from scientists and researchers migrating abroad and are affiliated with the university, to benefit from them in raising the university’s competitiveness, and the university’s interest in internationalizing scientific research through holding and participating in international conferences, and the university’s contribution to publishing researchers’ research results and financing them internationally, The university cooperates with international institutions in the field of marketing and employment of scientific research.
