Internationalization of sign language and its relationship to professional performance as perceived by student teachers in the Special Education Division at Al-Azhar University

Abstract

The current research aimed at identifying the relationship between sign language internationalization and the perceived professional performance among students of the faculties of education at Al-Azhar University (special education specialization). The research also tried to identify the differences in some demographic variables such as gender (males - females), and the school year (first - second - third - fourth) on the expected professional performance variable among the sample members. The study included a sample of (100) male and female students from the four university teams in the faculties of education, Al-Azhar University (specializing in special education), with (54) males and (46) females; their ages ranged between (19-22) years, with a mean age of (20.25) years, and a standard deviation of (1.086). To collect data; The researcher prepared a sign language internationalization questionnaire and the perceived professional performance scale and applied them to the sample members. The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between the internationalization of sign language and the perceived professional performance of students of the faculties of education at Al-Azhar University (special education specialization). Statistical significance according to the study group variable in favor of the fourth year students.
