Abstract

           This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of a developed unit based on the analytical approach in developing the Qur’anic text comprehension skills among Islamic Studies Majors. The study used the analytic descriptive approach to meet its end. The researcher utilized  a list and a test of the Qur’anic text comprehension skills that were administered to 60 Islamic Studies majors at the Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University in Cairo. The results yielded a list of the Qur’anic text comprehension skills for Islamic Studies majors that include three main skills, namely, skills of explanatory analysis, linguistic analysis, and social analysis.  The results also revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level (α = 0. 05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the posttest of the Qur’anic text comprehension skills in favor of the experimental group. The study recommended the necessity of using this approach in all educational stages because of its effective impact on developing the Qur’anic text comprehension skills.
