Some features of women’s education in contemporary Arab thought: Critical analytical vision from the Islamic perspective

Abstract

         The research aimed at providing a critical analytical vision for women’s education in contemporary Arab thought from the Islamic perspective. The research included: the importance of women in society, the manifestations of Islam's recognition of women, the features of women’s education in contemporary Arab thought, then providing a critical vision of women's education in contemporary Arab thought from an Islamic perspective. The research used the fundamentalist approach and the descriptive approach based on a critical philosophical analytical method. The research concluded that the secular trend sought to raise and educate women in accordance the Western concept of education, while the Salafi trend linked women and their education with ancient cultural traditions and legacies and based on the manifestations of religious text in accordance with the rule of justification. The moderate reform trend focused on the Islamic moderate education of women, their teaching of religious and sharia sciences, the principles of moral behavior compatible with Islam, as well as other mundane/ worldly sciences.
