Abstract

The aim of the current research is to Recognition  Dimensions mathematical proficiency as predictors and geometrical problems solving among a sample of Al-Azhar middle school students and the predictability of geometrical problems solving through mathematical proficiency dimensions. The research sample consisted of (120) students of the second year of Al-Azhar middle school through first semester for the year (2021-2022 AD). The mean age was (13.7) years and a standard deviation of (1.2). The following instruments were applied: The mathematical proficiency scale, and the geometrical problem solving test (prepared by the researcher). The results of the research revealed that there is there is a positive correlation between the scores of the sample members on mathematical proficiency (dimensions and total score) and their scores on geometrical problems solving, the results also showed that the dimensions (concept comprehension, procedural fluency, strategic efficiency, adaptive reasoning) contribute statistically to predicting geometrical problems solving, and productive desire Not statistically significant in prediction
