Emotional sensitivity and delayed gratification as predictors of School Engagement in students with mild Disabilities )Correlational-Predictive Study)

Abstract

 The research aimed to identify the role of emotional sensitivity, and delaying gratification as predictors of school engagement among prep school integrated students, who are belonged to mild and different disabilities , The research was based on the relational descriptive approach, the sample consisted of (60) students from integration Prep School . The researcher used scales of : Emotional sensitivity, Delaying gratification, and School Engagement (by: the Researcher) . The results showed that there is a strong negative Correlation between emotional sensitivity and School engagement With a correlation coefficient of (-0.55) , There is a strong positive correlation between Delaying gratification and School Engagement with a correlation coefficient of (0.76), There is also a strong and negative correlation between emotional sensitivity and delaying gratification with a correlation coefficient of (-0.79), Regression analysis showed that School integration among students can be predicted through emotional sensitivity and delaying gratification as the coefficient of determination reached (0.30) and (0.58). For each of the emotional sensitivity and delayed gratification, respectively.
