The effectiveness of a counseling program based on the techniques of psychological representation in the sensory room (Sinozoline) to develop emotional expression among children in distress in the city of Jerusalem

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a counseling program based on psychological representation techniques in the sensory room (Sinozoline) to develop emotional expression among children in distress in the honorable city of Jerusalem. The level of emotional expression amounted to (24) children, divided into two groups: the first group is an experimental group of (12) children, and a control group of (12) children. Its psychometric characteristics of validity and stability, and a counseling program based on the techniques of psychological representation was built, and the results of the study indicated that the counseling program based on psychological representation has contributed to the development of emotional expression among children in distress in the experimental group compared to the control group, as indicated by the results The effectiveness of the counseling program did not differ among the members of the experimental group according to gender. The results also concluded that the members of the experimental group had maintained the improvement in emotional expression upon follow-up measurement one month after the end of the counseling program. Based on the results of the study, some recommendations were made, including action to benefit from the current counseling program in helping children in distress to develop emotional expression.
