The philosophy of evaluation in the Islamic educational heritage: Analytical Study

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the philosophy of evaluation in the Islamic educational heritage through the Islamic rooting of the philosophy of evaluation in accordance to the sources of Islamic education, revealing the methods of evaluation in the Islamic educational heritage. In addition, identifying how to develop the process of evaluation and examinations in Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, identifying the most prominent educational applications of the philosophy of evaluation in the Islamic educational heritage. The study used both the fundamentalist and historical methods. The study found in its results that the evaluation in the Islamic educational heritage came as an educational principle associated with learning aimed at diagnosis and treatment in order to reach the level stage or remove the warp in the behavior of the learner recommendation and education for him. Scientists deduced from the Qur'an and Sunnah methods of education and evaluation had a positive role in the progress of science and the emergence of scientists in every field. The objectives of the evaluation in the Islamic educational heritage for the learner are to achieve slavery to Allah Almighty, and succession on earth branches from it. Moreover, the expulsion of the Muslim individual and the Muslim nation, and the realization of work with worship, carrying the message of Islam to the world, building the Muslim personality and preparing it for this life and the hereafter. The methods of evaluation in the Islamic educational heritage of learners were comprehensive of the elements of the curriculum and aspects of the learner's personality, fair, diverse and continuous with the learner and the curriculum at each delicate stage so that only those who deserved to perform the message succeed, continuing even during work and after success from the stage with debate, exam, correspondence and scientific trips. Educational applications were developed for some educational institutions (school, family, and media) to improve the quality of the evaluation of the educational process.
