Requirements for applying green education at Al-Azhar University In view of some foreign models

Abstract

Green education is one of the modern concepts that express a type of education that serves the environmental field, and most countries of the world have paid attention to it. The study aimed to identify the most important requirements that must be met for the application of green education at Al-Azhar University in the light of some foreign models. Teaching at  Al-Azhar University, made up of (302) from the original community of (1315) faculty members in the Faculties of Education, Agriculture, Engineering, Science, and Human Studies, Al-Azhar University in Cairo. The results of the study, in the light of some foreign models and also from the point of view of the study sample, revealed a set of important requirements that must be met for the application of green education at the university, which were classified into regulatory legislative requirements, material requirements, human requirements, and requirements related to the three functions of the university: teaching, research. Scientific, and community service, and the study proved that the degree of importance of these requirements is very great, and the study recommended the need to take the necessary procedures and measures to achieve the transition to green education at Al-Azhar University, through a set of application mechanisms for the transition to a green university.
