Requirements for establishing a center for futures studies at Al-Azhar University from the point of view of faculty members: A field study

Abstract

The research aimed to identifying some of the requirements for establishing a center for futures studies at Al-Azhar University, and the degree of their importance from the point of view of faculty members at the university. The researcher used the descriptive approach to address Subject, using the questionnaire tool to obtain information, which was applied to a random sample, numbering (393) individual faculty members at the university, which included in terms of academic degree (114) professors, (134) assistant professors, (145) teachers, In terms of gender (218) males, (175) females, and in terms of specialization (141) humanities, (125) Arabic and Sharia sciences, (127) practical and applied sciences. The study tool was designed electronically through the (Google Drive) application, and applied digitally. The research reached a set of requirements for the establishment of the Center for Futures Studies at Al-Azhar University, the most important of which were:

Formulating the goals of the center in light of the strategic goals and objectives of the university.
Procedurally formulating the vision, mission and objectives of the center to be established.
Formation of the organizational structure of the center and defining the job description for all its components and units.
Setting the internal regulations organizing the work of the center in the light of its objectives.
Enacting legislation and taking legal measures to establish the center at the university.
Providing a database that helps manage the center's projects.
Determine the criteria for the Center's projects.

Selecting the center's employees in the light of standards of merit and absolute transparency.
