The Degree Of Support Of Al-Balqa' Applied University For Distance Learning In Its Northern Colleges From The Point Of View Of Faculty Members

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of support of Al-Balqa Applied University for distance learning in its northern colleges  from the point of view of the faculty members. The study followed the descriptive survey approach, the study sample consisted of (350) faculty members at Al-Balqa Applied University who were chosen randomly, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers designed a questionnaire consisting of (25) items distributed over two areas, and the study showed the following results: The degree of support of Al-Balqa Applied University for distance Learning from the point of view of the faculty members is high with an arithmetic mean of (4.36), While the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the degree of estimation of faculty members in the northern colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University due to the gender variable, while the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the degree of estimation of faculty members in the northern colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University due to the variable of academic rank in favor of Professor (Associate, Assistant), and the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the degree of estimation of faculty members in the northern colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University due to the variable of years of experience for more than (10) years. While the results showed that the benefits of applying distance learning in the northern colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University from the point of view of the faculty members are high with an arithmetic mean (4.21).The study recommended developing the distance learning system to match the theoretical and applied specializations in Jordanian universities, and emphasizing the importance of distance learning and its applicability in the educational process.
