Abstract

The research aimed at identifying the conceptual framework for community participation, demonstrating the importance of community participation in educational institutions, and recognizing the Islamic rooting of the principle of community participation. The research tried to answer to: What is the conceptual framework for community participation? What is the importance of community participation in educational institutions? What are the fields of community participation? What is the Islamic rooting of community participation? The research used the fundamentalist approach: which depends on the use of Qur'anic verses, prophetic hadiths, and its provisions, legislation and educational and psychological guidance in the analysis and study of educational and psychological issues, due to its suitability to the nature of the problem, with the aim of developing a proposed vision to activate community participation from the perspective of Islamic education among faculty members at Al-Azhar University in development convoys. The research found that community participation is of the utmost necessity at the university level, because education for excellence for all is achieved under current or government resources only with real community participation, a participation that is not only a contribution to resources but goes beyond that to the friendship of thought and the formation of a community culture that can allow education to be achieved for excellence, community participation is also one of the tools through which community can be advanced in general and education in particular, and improve both of them, and work to improve the social, economic, environmental and cultural standard of life of citizens, through the volunteer contribution of community members to development efforts, whether by opinion, work or funding, urging others to participate, not putting obstacles in the way of efforts by community leaders, and other things that lead to the development of society and the achievement of its goals.
