A Proposed Educational Framework for Enhancing Digital Teaching Skills among Kindergarten Teachers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The aim of this study is to present a proposed educational framework for enhancing digital learning skills among kindergarten teachers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study utilized a descriptive approach with an analytical method. It consists of a general framework that includes an introduction to the study, its problem, research questions, objectives, significance, methodology, terminology, previous studies, and comments on them. It also comprises four main dimensions. The first dimension presents the conceptual framework of kindergarten education and its status in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The second dimension focuses on kindergarten teachers and their main tasks. The third dimension explores digital education and its key skills. The fourth dimension presents the proposed educational framework, including its objectives, foundations, and sub-dimensions. These sub-dimensions encompass the following: firstly, training teachers on utilizing digital learning in teaching; secondly, training and preparing teachers to possess digital transformation skills; thirdly, activating the awareness requirements of kindergarten teachers regarding digital culture; fourthly, activating the requirements of a conducive environment for digital empowerment in kindergartens; fifthly, implementing digital teaching and learning practices in kindergartens; sixthly, optimizing the utilization of digital resources; and seventhly, activating the role of community partnerships to contribute to providing the necessary support for professional development programs for students and teachers in order to enhance their digital teaching skills.
