Social anxiety among hearing impaired students during the Corona pandemic

Abstract

 The aim of the research is to identify the level of social anxiety that hearing-impaired students suffer from during the Corona pandemic, and to identify the differences between males and females in the level of social anxiety, The sample consisted of (150) hearing impaired students, of whom (75) were males and (75) were females, with a chronological age of (13-16) years, with an average age of (14.19), and a standard deviation (0.83), and they have a hearing loss ranging from (35-69) decibels, in the better ear, according to the medical report of some merge schools in Port Said Governorate, The researcher built a social anxiety questionnaire, Its psychometric properties were verified, The results of the research revealed that there is a high level of social anxiety among the hearing impaired students as a result of the Corona pandemic, It also resulted in the presence of statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.01) between males and females in the level of social anxiety in favor of females.
