Analysis of sports injuries and causes in wrestling players in Jordan

Abstract

The study aimed at the most common sports injuries, their location and causes, among Jordan's wrestlers. The descriptive method was used, the reason for that is of how well it suits this study. The population study consisted of (600) players, the sample of the study consisted of (232) players which resembled (38.6%) of the study population. after analyzing the data, the results showed that the most injuries in wrestling players were muscle bruses and cramps, and then contractions. The most common places that injuries accure were the back, knee, and the shoulder. Also the study found that the most important reasons of injuries were the playing field was not good, Non-compliance with security and safety factors. The most common injuries depending on the variable category of players were the youth category, and according to the type of game was free wrestling. The study recommended the need to pay attention to the equipment of the clubs, and conducting courses and workshops to raise the awareness of coaches and players about sports injuries to reduce and prevent them.
