Abstract

This study aimed to determine the requirements for developing the performance of leaders in the light of entrepreneurial leadership, to identify the challenges facing this development, in addition to building a proposed strategy to develop the performance of leaders in community colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of entrepreneurial leadership. To achieve these goals, the analytical descriptive documentary method was followed, and references and available sources were relied upon as tools for data collection. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which is that the most requirements necessary to develop the performance of leaders in the light entrepreneurial leadership were represented in both administrative requirements, and personal and skill requirements, including providing a legislative, administrative and financial system that supports the independence of work among leaders, and gives them opportunities to practice creativity, developing a future strategic vision, being proactive, taking risks, and developing awareness among leaders in community colleges towards the importance of entrepreneurial leadership and  its dimensions. It was also found that the most prominent challenges facing the development of leaders’ performance in the light of entrepreneurial leadership are administrative and bureaucratic obstacles, centralization in decision-making, lack of moral support for leaders, in addition to the modernity of the entrepreneurial culture, and the lack of incentives and financial resources allocated to entrepreneurial activities. The study also presented a proposed strategy for developing the performance of leaders in community colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of entrepreneurial leadership, which consisted of five steps, namely the strategy concept, its principles, the stages of its construction, the requirements for its implementation, and finally, the obstacles to implementing the strategy and ways to overcome them.
