The Productive University Role in Developing Productive Thinking and the Attitude Towards Digital Activities

Abstract

The current research aimed to develop a suggested proposal that might procedurally contributes to activating the productive role of the university in the light of its roles: education, research, community services. It also aimed to develop some productive thinking skills and attitudes towards performing the tasks of digital educational activities and the mechanisms of implementation. The research made use of the descriptive approach which analyses and diagnoses the phenomenon and explore its aspects. The research community included the faculty members at the Egyptian universities, and the research sample was determined by (420) of faculty members in the Egyptian universities who responded to the two research instruments through social networking sites via Google Forms. The research results revealed a list of the identified university’s productive roles in terms of its fields: education, research, and community services that contribute to the development of both productive thinking and a positive attitude towards practicing digital educational activities from the viewpoint of the research sample. The research also uncovered the productive roles of the university in the educational field which are summarized in the design of the educational situations that help student employ his experiences in dealing with the encountered problems. The research also recognized the productive roles of the university in the research field, which are summarized in developing the researcher’s ability to determine the credibility of the source of information, and investigate the true accuracy of the news, besides the ability to reveal allegations, proofs and ambiguous arguments. The research also showed that monitoring the productive roles of the university in the societal field, which are summarized in bearing civil society institutions the learning outcomes that are accepted by the labor market.
