A Suggested Proposal for Developing the Performance of Administrative Leaders at Al-Azhar University in Light of Some Quality and Accreditation Standards

Abstract

The research aimed to reveal the status-quo of the performance of administrative leaders at Al-Azhar University, in addition to developing a suggested proposal for developing the performance of administrative leaders in light of quality and accreditation standards. The research used the descriptive approach. A questionnaire as a tool for collecting data and information was administered to a sample consisting of (407) faculty members in (12) faculties of Al-Azhar University, which was chosen to take into account the diversity in disciplines (theory - practical), geographical location (Cairo - Lower Egypt - Upper Egypt), branch (boys - girls) and the accreditation (accredited - unaccredited). The results revealed that the availability degree of the total performance of the administrative leaders in light of the quality and accreditation standards was at the “medium” level with a mean of (1.92). The results also indicated that the leadership and governance dimension came in the first rank with a mean of (2.04), followed by the dimension of quality management and development in the second rank with a mean of (1.94), and the dimension of strategic planning in the third rank with a mean of (1.93). In light of the theoretical and field study results, the research presented a suggested proposal for developing the performance of administrative leaders at Al-Azhar University in the light of quality and accreditation standards.
