Technological Skills of Library and Information Specialists in Al-Azhar Institutes in Light of Their Training Needs

Abstract

The current study aimed at developing a model for listing technological skills for library and information specialists in AL-azhar institutes. The model was designed in the light of their training needs, enabling them to perform functional tasks in the light of digital transformation and developments of the new century. To achieve the aims of the research, the descriptive curriculum was used as the convenient one to specily the most important technological skills in the light of the training needs, where the researcher prepared a list of the training needs for library and information specialists. The opinions of specialists and mentors were surveyed to determine the needs of these skills. A list of the suggested skills was designed in the light of the training needs and the nature of skills including three main skills for the list of technological skills among library and information specialists in Al-Azhar, using the Standard Catalog for School Libraries, Skills for Using the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, Skills for Using Digital Libraries. The list was presented to a group of experts, library and information specialist at Al-Azhar.
