The Effectiveness of the Difference in the Timing of Support Based on Educational Applications of Cloud Computing in Developing Digital Content Production Skills among Faculty of Education Students at Al-Azhar University

Abstract

This study sought to explore the effectiveness of differentiating the time of support based on cloud computing educational application in developing digital content production skills among Faculty of Education students at Al-Azhar University. To meet this end, the study utilized the quasi-experimental design. Participants of the study were 150 fourth year instructional technology majors at the Faculty of Education students at Al-Azhar University for the academic year 2020-2021 AD, they were divided into three groups according to the timing of support (before, during and after) training. The study also utilized a test of cognitive achievement, an observation sheet for the participants’ performance related to digital content production skills of instructional courses in Course Lab software. The results also revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of experimental group students who studied with information support in the cloud computing environment (before, during and after) training regardless of the course of study in the posttest of the cognitive achievement test and the performance observation sheet related to the skills of producing educational courses in favor of the support time during training followed by support before training and support after training. In addition, the study recommended the need for making use of e-learning environments based on cloud computing applications to provide support patterns for the development of skill performance related to digital content production skills.
