Abstract

The present study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of the worked examples strategy using the flipped classroom environment in developing programming project skills among students of the third year of the Department of Instructional Technology. The participants of the study were (60) students at the instruction technology department at the Faculty of Education in Dakahlia in Tafahna Al-Ashraf, Al-Azhar University. They were divided into two experimental groups, experimental and control; the experimental group studied the educational content using the strategy of worked example, in the flipped classroom environment, (providing theoretical content at home and practiced activities and exercises in the lab). The control group studied the educational content the traditional method (providing theoretical content and practicing activities and exercises in the lab). The study adopted the experimental design. Two instruments were developed: a cognitive achievement test, and a checklist for observing the practical performance. The results of the study revealed that there was statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group studied via the strategy of worked examples in the flipped classroom environment and the control group studied using the traditional method in the post application.
