The Skills Necessary for Secondary School Students to Meet the Needs of The Labor Market and The Requirements for Its Development

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the skills necessary for secondary school students to meet the needs of the labor market and the requirements for its development. The descriptive approach was used, with reliance on the questionnaire and the interview as study tools. An interview was conducted with businessmen to find out the most important labor market skills that are necessary for secondary school students of (18) businessmen. educationally, The most important results of the study showed: that the labor market skills that need to be developed for secondary school students are: (English language skill, computer skill, the skill of taking responsibility, the skill of the art of dealing with others, the skill of development and innovation, the manual skill, the administrative skill, the skill of adapting to the changing environment The skill of mastery and love of work, thinking skill, time management skill, problem solving skill), and that the most important requirements for developing the skills of secondary school students were arranged in descending order according to the degree of their achievement, as follows: (developing a sense of belonging and pride in national identity, developing a sense of responsibility among students, Providing students with good work habits that lead to productivity: such as keeping time, achieving, directing students’ attention to the use of computers, engaging students in volunteer work, training students in the skill of dealing with others, providing students with self-learning skills, paying attention to measuring students’ attitudes and tendencies to direct them towards careers Introducing students to the most prominent future jobs, training students in the skill of organization and planning, developing students’ positive attitudes towards the free labor market, arranging MEED visits Real-time for workplaces and projects, linking educational curricula with local events, providing students with professional culture, providing students with a second language in English or Chinese, training students in the skill of writing a CV, activating the vocational education course for students in a practical way, establishing partnerships with specialized companies to spend a period of training the student as a requirement To pass the vocational education course, taking care of manual skills).
