Self-Efficacy and Tolerance of Ambiguity as Predictors of Academic Perseverance among Qassim University Students

Abstract

    The study aimed to identify the relationship of academic perseverance and each of those who tolerate ambiguity and self-efficacy. It also aimed to identify the predictive ability to tolerate ambiguity and self-efficacy in academic perseverance among a sample of university students. The study used descriptive relational method to achieve study’s goals. Sample was chosen randomly from first level of university phase, their ages between (19-21) years. The researcher used academic perseverance scale (Abdulfattah, 2011), tolerate ambiguity scale (Abdultawab, 2010), and self-efficacy scale (alkferi, 2018). Also Person correlation, T test, one-way ANOVA and multiple liner regression for data processing. The results of the study revealed a positive correlation between self-efficacy, tolerance of ambiguity and academic perseverance.  The results also indicated to modified role of self-efficacy in the relationship between academic perseverance and tolerance of ambiguity, also results showed the predictive ability of the variables self-efficacy tolerance of ambiguity in academic perseverance. The researcher recommended in the last study several recommendations
