A Proposed Vision for Risk Management at Benha University in the Light of The Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the intellectual framework for risk management in universities, the most important features of the Egypt Awardfor GovernmentalExcellence, diagnosing the reality of risk management at Benha University in light of the Egypt Awardfor GovernmentalExcellence, and arriving at a proposed vision to achieve the effectiveness of risk management at Benha University in the light of indicators Criteria for the Egypt Awardfor GovernmentalExcellence, especially the standard for risk management and business continuity, and the current research followed descriptive method, and an open interview was conducted with risk management officials at Benha University and its faculties in order to know their views on the features of risk management at Benha University; this is because they are more familiar with the risk management policies and procedures facing Benha University, and the research results reached to that the most important factors for the success of the application of risk management in universities are making risk management an institutional priority, supporting it by the university’s senior management, integrating risk management into the institutional culture, establishing an effective structure for risk management, and preparing a strategic plan for risk management, building effective information systems, forming work teams, and continuously developing a risk management system in universities, and the current research has also come up with a proposed vision to achieve the effectiveness of risk management at Benha University by adhering to the indicators of the risk management and business continuity standard indicators of the Egypt Awardfor GovernmentalExcellence, which are represented in: an effective and comprehensive framework for managing risks in Benha University, and policies and procedures for managing risks in Benha University, adopting a strategic plan to manage risks in Benha University, documenting the results of risk management at Benha University, and the requirements for implementing this proposed vision were identified in: educational requirements, organizational requirements, human requirements, and financial requirements.
