Obstacles to the performance of faculty members in Egyptian universities In light of entrepreneur university's philosophy

Abstract

The current era is characterized by many global economic and cognitive changes, such as the information and digital revolution, the growth of means of communication and the trend towards entrepreneurship, so that today's societies are based on knowledge and innovation because it is the means of progress, advancement and achievement of leadership. In order for the university to cope with these transformations, it must adopt aentrepreneur method in its various functions. And to develop a culture of entrepreneurship among all its employees, and to create new job opportunities to achieve a leading position among international universities.
The study aimed to develop a conceptual framework dealing with the philosophy of the entrepreneur university, highlighting the performances of the faculty members as reflected in the philosophy of the entrepreneur university, and identifying the most important obstacles to the performance of faculty members in Egyptian universities in the light of the entrepreneur university philosophy. The study used the descriptive approach by applying the study tool. (a questionnaire) addressed to a sample of faculty members in Egyptian universities, consisting of (457) faculty members as a representative sample of the study community, and it reached several results, the most important of which are: The degree of achievement of the total obstacles to the performance of faculty members in the light of the entrepreneur university’s philosophy is at the level of “medium”.
The degree of achievement of all of them came at a large and medium level, and the study recommended the necessity of providing an appropriate environment that encourages scientific research, raising the financial return for supervising scientific theses, and promoting the activities of faculty members in Egyptian
universities.
