Abstract

The research aimed at analyze the role of the school management in confronting educational wastage in the second stage of basic education in the governorate of Beni Sueif. The role of the school management is divided into three sub-roles: administrative, technical and social roles. The research used the descriptive approach, as being suitable for the objective and nature of the research. The research also relied on a questionnaire as a tool to identify the status quo of the roles played by the school management and the importance of these roles from the point of view of the study sample, which included 408 from the study community, which includes the principals, vice-principal and teachers in the governorate of Beni Suef. The results showed the weak availability of the research tool (administrative, technical and social roles), emphasizing its importance. The overall importance of the role of the school administration in confronting educational wastage in general (84.68%), while the overall availability of the questionnaire (45.84%). The results showed that the social role came in first rank in terms of the gap between availability and importance, while the administrative role came in the second rank, and the technical role came in the third rank. The research recommended a set of procedural practices to operationalize the roles of the school administration in confronting educational wastage, including: establishing a database that includes failed students and students at risk of dropping out,   providing moral support to encourage them to complete the education process within the school, paying attention to teachers within the school, and ensuring their support , promoting their scientific and technical skills; as they help them solve students problems.
