Developing the performance of industrial secondary school principals in Egypt in light of the Malaysian experience

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the reality of the performance of the three-year industrial secondary schools’ principals in Egypt, besides providing a suggested proposal for developing the performance of those principals in light of the Malaysian experience. This research adopted the descriptive method and administered a questionnaire as a tool for data and information gathering, which was administered to a sample of (1006) teachers at the three - year industrial secondary schools in (Cairo, Kafr El - Sheikh and Assiut) governorates. Findings revealed the following: the degree of the industrial secondary schools’ principals’ practice for their duties and responsibilities came at " a medium” degree with a mean = (1.78). Findings also revealed that the degree of practicing the dimension (school planning) ranked first at the level of “medium” practice, with a mean (1.94), while the degree of practicing the dimension (improving the relationship between the school) came in the first place. and the local community in the last rank, with a level of “weak” practice, with a mean (1.56). In the light of the theoretical and field study findings, the current research provided a suggested proposal for developing the performance of industrial secondary school principals in Egypt in light of the Malaysian experience in the field of developing the performance of industrial secondary school principals.
