Abstract

The research aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed program based on adaptive learning in developing some geographical skills and visual thinking among the 8th grade with hearing disabilities students. The researcher adopted the descriptive method and the quasi-experimental method. Participants were (30) students of the eighth grade from primary school with hearing disabilities. Tools of the research included; The geographical skills test, the visual thinking skills test. Results of the research revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the controlled group in the pre and post measurements of the geographical skills test, and the visual thinking skills test in favor of the post measurement. This confirms the effectiveness of the proposed program based on adaptive learning in developing some geographic and visual thinking skills among students with hearing disabilities in the eighth grade of primary school. The research recommended the necessity of teaching social studies curricula for students with hearing disabilities in the primary stage in general, and the eighth grade in particular, in accordance with their nature, growth characteristics, and needs, and taught them through modern technological programs; relying on the visual side more than the verbal one.
