Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of professional competencies possessed by workers in family reform offices in Sharia courts in Jordan, and their relationship to their level of professional motivation. The study was administered to a sample consisting of (100) individuals working in family reform offices, distributed over central and northern governorates in Jordan, including (24) male workers, and (76) female workers. To achieve the objectives of the study, two scales have been developed that have appropriate indications of validity and reliability, namely: the professional competency scale and the professional motivation scale. The results indicated that the level of each of the professional competencies and professional motivation on the total degree were average, and that there was a direct and statistically significant relationship between the professional competencies and professional motivation among the study sample members. The study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: the necessity of holding workshops, seminars and lectures related to the development of professional competencies and professional motivation for workers in family reform centers in Sharia courts, taking care of facilities within family reform offices, and providing the appropriate capabilities to ensure the best service for families.
