Abstract

This research aims to identify distance learning-related social constraints faced by female postgraduates during the covid-19 outbreak. The research, thus, respectively tackles three objectives: identification of constraints related to social relationships among female postgraduates on distance learning platforms during the covid-19 pandemic; identification of faculty awareness of virtual learning community-related constraints faced by female postgraduates during the covid-19 pandemic; and identification of constraints related to social interaction between female postgraduates and university administration during the covid-19 distance learning. where 373 female postgraduates at KSU in Riyadh were involved using comprehensive survey. The data were collected through a questionnaire tool. The research identified several findings inter alia that the high-impact constraints are represented in the social relationships between female postgraduates on distance learning platforms during the covid-19 pandemic, for example, the absence of verbal dialogue between female students and the lack of visual communication, which, in turn, contributed to their sense of isolation; faculty awareness of virtual learning community constraints faced by female postgraduates during the covid-19 pandemic, and social interaction between female postgraduates and university administration.
